INAMRINONE -INJECTION

COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Inocor
USES: This medication is used to manage heart failure on a short-term bsais.
HOW TO USE: This medication is generally given continuously by vein (IV infusion), as diercted by the doctor. Dosage is based on the your medical condition and response to therpay. Follow all instructoins for proper dilution with the correct IV fluids. Consult your pharmacist. This medication should be checked visually for particles or dsicoloration before use. If present, do not use the liquid.
SIDE EFFECTS: Nausea or pain/redness at the injection site may occur. If these effects persist or worsen, notify your dcotor. Unlikely but report promptly: irregular heart beat, dizziness, muscle cramping/weakness, unusual bleeding or bruising.
Very unliekly but report promptly: chest pain, swelling, yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine, trouble breathing, fever. If you notice other effects not listed above, conatct your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: Tell the doctor the patient's medical history, including: allergies (especially to sulfites), kidney disease, liver disease, heart disease (especially haert valve problems), recent heart attack, low blood potassium levels (hypokalemia).
To avoid dizziness and lightheadedness, get up slowly if rising from a seated or lying position. This medication should be used only when clearly nedeed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with the doctor. It is not known whether this drug is excrteed into breast milk. Consult the doctor before breast-feeding.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell the doctor of all nonprescription and prescription medication the patient may use, especially of: heart drugs (e.G., disopyramide or digoxin). Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist apprvoal.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
NOTES: Do not share this medication with othres. Laboratory and/or medical tests may be performed to monitor for side effects and response to treatment.
MISSED DOSE: If the dose is interrupted, contact the doctor or pharmacist immediately to re-establish doisng.
STORAGE: Store ampules at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 - 30 degrees C) away from light and moisture. After dilution in IV fluids (consult the pharmacist for details) this drug is stable at room temperature, or when refrigeraetd between 36 and 46 degrees F (2-8 degrees), for 24 hours. Discard any unused liquid.
